Consider Jesus! He is The Truth!
Good Morning! I was recently giving an interview for our upcoming Women’s Conference, “ Fearless” and the host of the radio program began his interview by talking to me about “Barna Trends 2018.” This is a large scale, annual collection of information summarizing a year’s worth of research and analysis on the spiritual state of our culture. There are some truly alarming findings within this incredible research as well as some information that is a little comical. I did not, however, find the results to be entirely surprising considering that we are now living in what is often called a “Post Truth” and “Post Christian” society! This was the very reason God laid on my heart to begin the ministry of One Truth! We live in a time and place where Truth has become relative and even facts are now open to interpretation! In a time where it may seem comical that a large portion of Americans think that Sodom & Gomorra were a husband a wife couple or that many people believe the “Epistles” were the wives of the Apostles, there is a reality to these findings that should wake us up, and call us to action! God says in Hosea 4:6, “My people perish for a lack of KNOWLEDGE!” That statement is every bit as true now as it was then! We perish because of a lack of knowledge of the Word of God! The percentage of Christians who were actually engaged in the Bible last year was only 20%. That means 80% of Christians were not actively engaged in the Bible! This is unacceptable, dangerous, and so very sad to me! We must remember what happened after the time of Joshua. A whole generation rose up, Judges 2:8-11 tells us, who Did Not Know God or What He Had Done! This became a generation lost to a cycle of sin! I also think about the book of Amos and how God told the people that they would experience a famine of hearing the Word of God. They would not have access. They would be dry, dehydrated, unhealthy, and thirsty. They wanted it but would not be permitted to have it. We Have unlimited access to the Word of God, and yet we have decided that we don’t Want it! Why are we willingly starving ourselves? Do we understand that Jesus IS the WORD, and that the Word of God is Truth! Jesus said that He is the TRUTH, and knowing the Truth WILL set us FREE!!! We will truly waste away as Christians without Knowing the Truth of God’s Word! That Truth is what fills us with faith, and it is the weapon with which we can fight our enemy! As you know, we have been spending time taking up the call from Hebrews 3:1, To Consider Jesus! We want to know Him intimately, to think carefully about Him, and understand who He is To us and In us! This week, my prayer is that we Consider Jesus in this way: He is the TRUTH!
“Jesus said, I AM the WAY, The TRUTH, and the LIFE.” – John 14:6
“You will know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH will set you free!” – John 8:32
“Sanctify them in the TRUTH; Your WORD is TRUTH!” – John 17:17
I pray that even in this small sampling today you will be Nourished and Strengthened by the WORD, that you will let this TRUTH defeat any lies the enemy has been speaking to your mind, and that this TRUTH will set you FREE!! Let’s be people who change the statistics, Know the Word of God, and be Sure of what the Truth IS! The Truth is not Relative; it is the Reality of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
If you feel like you are Alone, The TRUTH is: “I will NEVER Leave you or Forsake you!” – Heb. 13:5
If you feel trapped in your old sin, the TRUTH is: “If Anyone is IN Christ, they are a NEW creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” – 2 Cor. 5:17. “For sin shall NOT be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.” – Rom. 6:14
If you feel unprotected, the TRUTH is: “God is your refuge and your strength, an EVER PRESENT help in times of trouble!” – Ps. 46:1-3
If you feel unloved, the TRUTH is “God has loved you with an everlasting love.” –Jer. 31:3 “He has SO loved you that He sent His one and only Son, so that if you believe in Him you will have everlasting life.” – John 3:16
I want to encourage you to Consider Jesus: He is the Truth! Bring EVERY thought into obedience to Jesus. Let the TRUTH demolish EVERY argument and lofty opinion that would set itself up against the KNOWLEDGE of God! The Truth is what builds our faith and it is the weapon with which we fight the enemy! The Truth is JESUS! Let’s Consider Him Carefully in this way! I urge you to place EVERY Feeling under the LIGHT of His Glorious TRUTH! I want to challenge you this week to go on a treasure hunt and Seek out the Truth in every situation you are facing. Make a list similar to the one above, meditating on it day and night, and let the Truth of God set you free! Let’s praise His Mighty Name!
